What is the CAHI Jeffe Fellowship Program?
In its seventh edition, the CAHI Jeffe Fellowship focuses on empowering health innovators in Latin America. We seek leaders and projects that generate tangible improvements in the health of Latin Americans, so the program works as a catalyst for innovative business models and projects.
The CAHI Jeffe Fellowship Program has the following components:

Three intensive modules: Immerse yourself in a comprehensive program that covers everything from leadership and innovation to macro strategies for health innovation.
Webinars: Stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices in the healthcare sector.
Personalized support: Receive individualized guidance to accelerate the development of your project.
Access to mentor and alumni network: Connect with industry experts and leaders to expand your professional network.
To participate in the program, we offer partial and full scholarship opportunities that cover tuition and teaching materials. These scholarships are offered thanks to the support of our allied organizations that have a high commitment to supporting innovative leaders in the Latin American region.
What does the program for selected projects consist of?
The program focuses on providing health sector leaders in Latin America with practical leadership and management tools. It lasts nine months, with two one-week in-person modules and a two-week virtual module with real-time sessions. Between modules, participants attend webinars that expand their knowledge on innovation, project management, and health.
In the first module, the objective is to strengthen the leadership skills of participants so that they engage as agents of change and structure a sustainable management model for their project. The second module provides tools and techniques for project management and impact assessment. The third module seeks for participants to define an action plan. to grow or replicate your project, considering the institutional and technological factors of your project.
In addition to training, the program adds value to leaders and their projects through personalized support from high-level mentors, access to a network of change agents, and the opportunity to exchange experiences with other participating organizations and the network of program graduates. This contributes to enriching knowledge, strengthening the professional network, and increasing the chances of success of the selected projects.
The ultimate goal is for participants to increase their social impact through project growth, applying the tools and knowledge acquired in the sessions.
What types of health sector projects can participate?
The program is aimed at leaders interested in the health sector. These leaders may have training in medical sciences or other disciplines such as engineering, administration, product design, and related careers. The primary requirement is that they lead projects aimed at improving the quality, accessibility, and affordability of health services in Latin America.
As this is an acceleration program, candidates must have a product, service or initiative in progress with the potential to be replicable or scalable.
We support initiatives from all sectors:
Public sector: Members of Social Security, Ministries of Health and other Ministries or Departments that generate projects with an impact on health.
Nonprofit sector: Nonprofit organizations that promote interventions to improve the health of populations.
Private Sector: Entrepreneurs and companies in the healthcare and life sciences sector that generate innovations in products and services to improve healthcare in Latin America.
We believe in the potential of projects that seek the efficient use of limited resources through cost-effective solutions, and that promote initiatives with a multidisciplinary and intersectoral approach.

Our story:
Robert A. Jeffe, an American businessman and philanthropist, is committed to the well-being of Latin American communities. In 2012, Jeffe had a clear vision for the healthcare sector in Central America, as he aimed to promote solutions that would efficiently deliver high-quality healthcare services to all people in the region, with a particular focus on pediatric care.
Aware of the needs and challenges of healthcare systems, the Robert A. & Elizabeth R. Jeffe Foundation founded a non-profit organization, the Central American Healthcare Initiative, in 2012, with the invaluable support of INCAE Business School, Stanford University and New York University, to carry out its mission. Through CAHI, Jeffe supported innovative solutions and better management of healthcare in the region.
